This is a shortened story of Dr.Seuss life.
Dr.Seuss's father and grandfather were the brew masters in the city. His mother was the one who sparked his creative imagination. In world war I they hit hard financial times and Seuss's father became the parks presidents which meant he owned the local zoo. Seuss spent lots of his time there. This was also a key factor in Seuss success. His town, Springfield, inspired him in many ways. He went to Dartmouth college and to please his father. Seuss is what he signed his name at at the end of magazine articles. Seuss was his middle name and his mothers maiden name. His father wanted him to be a college professor, he went to Oxford college. He met Helen Palmer there, she was his first wife. His studies bored him so he went on a tour of Europe. After a while he began to want to become a cartoonist. He also dedicated 15 years to a advertising campaign for oil. In world war II Seuss began to draw cartoons on politics. He was to old to go to war but he made training videos. He got his big break when Viking Press asked him to publish a book. He wrote And to Think I saw it on Mulberry Street only to have it rejected 27 times before Vanguard Press published it. The Cat in the Hat became the defining book in his career. Random House had the trading rights and Houghton Mufflin
got the school rights.They book had 225 easy reader words in it. His first wife died in 1967 he married his old friend Audrey Stone GeiselTheodor Seuss Geisel is Dr.Seuss's real name.

Mother's Name: Henrietta Seuss Geisel died in 1931 of brain tumor
Sister's Name: Margaretha Christine Geisel 1902-1945 she suffered from fear of strangers
Young Sister's Name: Henrietta Seuss Geisel died early eighteen months old
First Wife's name:Helen Palmer died in 1967 of Hodgkin's disease. She never complianed that she was ill. There was no funeral, the La Jolla Museum of art named there new library after her.
Seconds Wife's name: Audrey Stone Dimond. She was his business partner
Father was volunteer park commissioner. Both his mother and father where exceptionally good at shooting rifles. In 1917 U.S sent soldiers to Europe to fight in World War I.He collected money by selling thrift stamps and liberty bonds. He collected so much that he received a metal from the former president Theodor Roosevelt.There was 10 people and only 9 metals. He didn't get his metal anyway.In the early 1950's Helen lost use of her mouth, hands, arms, and legs. It was caused by a rare disease that parallelized her. She regained movement but she had tightness in her legs and feet. He wrote How the Grinch Stole Christmas in one week. He gets on average1,5021 and 2,000 fan letters a week. He was seventy when he wrote The Lorax. By the time he was 75 he had made 42 Dr. Seuss books. 8 million copies had been sold.May is declared dr.seuss month by Random House. He wrote the only childrens book, The Butter Battle Book, to be a New York times best seller for 6 months.Ted survived a heart attack and several bouts of throat cancer. He died on tuesday, September 24, 1991. He died of throat cancer. he had writen and illistrated 48 books.
